Chic in Shein

Do any of you ever feel like the universe is telling you something and when you ignore it, it just tries to tell you louder and louder? This has been happening to me for the past month. It all started when I posted my first three blog posts at the beginning of July. I was thinking about what clothing brand I should write a blog about next. One of my friends messaged me and was raving about this clothing company named Shein. She was talking about how many cute things they have for super cheap and that it would be perfect for my blog. A week later my roommate was raving about Shein as well and was talking about the cute bathing suits she‘s gotten from there. From that moment and on, Shein was a recurring point of conversation amongst many of my friends. It seemed like the only logical thing to do was to write a blog about it. Tailored and Trendy is all about finding trendy clothing tailored to your budget, so if you're ready for the inside details on Shein and to hear what all the latest buzz is about, then keep reading!

Side Note: This blog post is not sponsored! This is my freely expressed opinion.

I just want to start off by saying thank you to all of the ladies that have recommended Shein to me because my world has been turned upside down. Shein is a perfect contender for my blog because it fits what my blog is all about. Trendy clothes and for this case, on a low budget. And let me tell you Shein is definitely one of the "it" stores right now. Within a few seconds of being on their website, I already knew I was going to fall in love with everything. Every time I scrolled down, something else kept catching my eye. I wanted everything but I knew I was on a search to find an outfit to put on my blog. I don't have a wide variety of dresses that I own so I decided this would be a good place to look. When I think about outfit choices for my blogs, I try to pick things that I don’t necessarily have in my closet. This lets me expand my horizons and I am able to try on things outside of my comfort zone with no pressure. Shein has a wide variety of dresses and you can filter the style of dress to a specific type that you are looking for. They even have a category for dresses that are under $5! I did not set a filter when I was looking for a dress because I was open to any style to try. When I saw the coral orange off the shoulder dress I instantly fell in love. The way it hugs my body so tight in all of the right places. There’s been a lot of instances where I’ve tried on dresses I’ve ordered and they don’t fit anything like they’re supposed to. I was praying this one would and I was so happy when I put it on! It was one of those dresses where you do not want to take it off because you’re just so happy with the way it looks and you feel amazing in it.

Accessories are a huge deal to me when it comes to making an outfit. You can go from a boring outfit to an extravagant outfit as long as you have the right accessories. This can include bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, scarves, hats, purses/bags, etc. I was looking through their selection of jewelry and found this set of bracelets that matched perfectly to the dress. They had the same coral color with a mix of white, which would contrast greatly against the dress. Bracelets can be very subtle, but still, make a big impact on the overall look. Along with jewelry, I managed to find some cute chokers to pair with the dress. I am a huge fan of chokers. Matter of fact I am obsessed with them as I wear one almost every single day. I wanted to find a layered set to go with the theme following my layered bracelets. This set of chokers has a black velvety band with a silver circle pendant. The other two are little gold chains in which one has a black crystal and the other one has a white pearl. The white and black contrast with each other as well as the white ties in a connection with the bracelets. Both accessories help blend the outfit in and make it whole.

This look would be so cute as a date night outfit or for a night out in the city. I was really happy with everything that I ordered and I will definitely be ordering more things soon. Their bathing suits come in these cute designed ziplock-like bags that you can reuse, which I think is pretty neat. Another great thing that Shein does is that they have their own point system. By earning points, you can get up to 70% off of a purchase. You can get 100 points just by verifying your email! Other ways to accumulate points is to post a review on a product you ordered, post a comment, or simply just by buying stuff. One dollar equals one point. I find this really cool how they're giving back when the clothing is already super affordable! They also have a Shein Curve as well. Overall, I think this brand is super inclusive and features a lot of great clothing with many different styles to choose from. If this sounds amazing to you, then go check them out and be prepared to fall in love just as much I did.

As always babes, stay beautiful, stay positive, and stay trendy!

P.S. - How does everyone pronounce Shein?? Do you say it like sheen, she-in, or shine? Let me know in the comments! :)
